Our GPS Maps and Smart Stages
The Camino Primitivo is tough, but good planning changes everything. In our Stages section, you won’t just find the official route, but exclusive tracks with our strategic accommodation recommendations. Before you start walking, familiarize yourself with our interactive map and discover why splitting the stage in places like Colinas de Arriba can save your legs the next day.

The Backpack: Your Home on Your Back
The pilgrim’s golden rule: your backpack should never exceed 10% of your body weight. On the steep slopes of Asturias, every extra gram of “just in case” items becomes a torment. Good footwear (already broken in), three sets of technical clothing, a small first aid kit, and a good sleeping bag are all you need.

Training and Physical Preparation
We won’t lie to you: the Camino Primitivo is the most demanding pilgrimage route. You will be constantly going up and down. It’s not just about having the stamina to walk 25 km a day, but preparing your knees and ankles for descents on uneven terrain. If you start preparing a couple of months in advance, you’ll go from “suffering” the Camino to truly enjoying it.
