I’m Ricardo, born and raised in Grandas de Salime, right in the heart of the Camino Primitivo.
My whole life has been tied to the mountains. For years, I’ve watched thousands of pilgrims pass by my door, and I noticed a constant problem: the route’s information was scattered. Hikers had to jump between outdated forums, heavy map apps, and booking websites.
That is why I decided to create The Primitive Way.
My goal is to build the ultimate “All-in-One” platform for this route. I’ve poured my on-the-ground experience into creating a guide where you have an integrated GPS map, 100% functional from your mobile phone, alongside precise and straightforward information about accommodations and services for each stage. No getting lost, no switching apps, and designed strictly to be used on the trail.
I believe the original route to Santiago, “The Camino Primitivo,” deserves to be known and celebrated. Through this website, I aim to provide reliable, up-to-date information on stages, accommodations, points of interest, and practical tips to help you plan your journey with confidence and safety.
